Note: This guide is written for Windows 7 and Windows 10 users. If you are using a different operating system, such as MacOS or an old version of Windows, try doing a search on how to take a screenshot using your operating system and then follow along with the rest of the instructions here.
If you already know how to take a screenshot, come join the fun and !
1. Prep Your Mini
In the Mini Mall, dress your Mini however you want! When you’ve got your Mini in an outfit and scene that you want to take a screenshot of, save it and go to the Club Pogo home page. You can take a screenshot of your Mini from anywhere it displays but I prefer the Club Pogo home page because the area around the Mini including the caption is white, and on other parts of Pogo’s site, the background is an off-white beige color.
Tip! For those of you who don’t always want to spend your tokens or Gems: for the purposes of just taking a screenshot, you can try on as many things from the Mini Mall as you want and take a screenshot from the left hand side of the Mini Mall page before checking out. It’s completely free, but you will, however, get that off-white background:
2. Open the Snipping Tool
To take a screenshot of your Pogo Mini, you can use a program that’s already built in to Windows: the Snipping Tool. To find it, press your Windows key on your keyboard or click the Windows icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen, then type the first few letters of Snipping Tool. This will pull up a search of your computer for the program; when you see Snipping Tool show up, click on it to open it.
3. Check your Mode setting
Once it’s open, you can drag the Snipping Tool window to wherever you want it. On the Snipping Tool window, make sure your mode is set to Rectangular Snip.
4. Start snipping!
Press New to start Snipping. Your window will fade and your mouse cursor will turn into a crosshair (+). To draw a rectangle around your Mini for your screenshot, click and drag. I recommend starting at the upper left corner of your Mini, then click and drag down to the bottom right corner. This will draw a thin red box around the area it will snip.
When you let go of the click, the Snipping Tool will present you with options to save your screenshot.
5. Save or Copy, then Share
To save your screenshot to your computer’s hard drive, click the button on the top menu that looks like a diskette (shown left in the red box below).
Or, if you’re sharing your Mini in a Facebook comment or in a Facebook status update, you can skip the step of saving it to your computer. Temporarily copy your screenshot to your computer’s clipboard: press the button that looks like two pieces of lined paper (shown right in the red box above). Then, when you’re creating a status update on Facebook or leaving a comment on Facebook, you can just hold down your control key and press v to paste your Mini screenshot directly into your status update or comment.
6. Practice, and more uses!
If you’d like to practice, share your Mini with us on the just for your Mini snipping practice. And, I may feature my favorites on our Facebook timeline or on a future weekend open thread!
You can also use this method to take a screenshot of anything you want: badge-earned pop-ups, what your Solitaire Gardens look like, funny in-game glitches, milestones like reaching over 50 million tokens or 5,000 badges, and more! These are all great accomplishments you should share with too!
